Reese Witherspoon Buys Brentwood Estate for $16 Million
Nearly a year after the sale was completed, Reese Witherspoon and her husband, talent agent Jim Toth, have been revealed as the buyers of a sprawling estate in the upscale Brentwood neighborhood on L.A.’s Westside. According to Variety, the couple paid $15.9 million for the seven-bed, nine-bath home in March 2020.
The English Country–style house spans just over 9,500 square feet. In addition to the seven spacious bedrooms, each of which boasts an en suite bathroom, the high-ceilinged home also includes a living room, formal dining room, and cozy den, and is outfitted with dark hardwood flooring and accented with dark wood beams throughout. The massive and bright chef’s kitchen features white cabinets and white marble countertops, and stainless steel appliances that include four ovens; just off the kitchen is a round breakfast room with three sets of French doors leading out to the backyard.
The property’s three acres offer room for a three-car garage, as well as a large saltwater pool and spa surrounded by plenty of deck space and a covered patio complete with outdoor kitchen and fireplace. The house and its lush green lawns are set quite a ways away from any main thoroughfare, and are accessible only by a private road leading to an impressive driveway gate—all of which reportedly makes the property one of the most private in the area.
Witherspoon’s purchase came amid her recent efforts to otherwise slim down her West Coast real estate holdings. In April, she sold her Pacific Palisades home, which had been on the market for three years, for $17 million. And in November, the Big Little Lies star offloaded Zuma Farms, her picturesque Malibu vacation home, for $6.7 million.
