Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner Snag Two-Acre Lot on Miami’s ‘Billionaire Bunker’
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner seem to have figured out their post–White House plans: According to Page Six, in their final weeks as presidential advisers and first daughter and son-in-law, the couple purchased a 1.84-acre plot of land on the ultra-exclusive island of Indian Creek in Miami Beach.
The Kushners reportedly bought Lot 4 of the village, which comprises just 41 residential lots. The property was listed at $31.8 million by singer-songwriter and longtime Indian Creek resident Julio Iglesias in January. Though the lot is currently empty, it offers 80,000 square feet of space on which to construct a coastal estate, including 200 feet of private waterfront on Biscayne Bay.
Indian Creek is colloquially referred to as the Billionaire Bunker due to a high-powered roster of residents that includes Iglesias, Adriana Lima, billionaire Carl Icahn, and Dutch businessman Geert-Jan Bakker, who purchased a property there from Beyoncé and Jay-Z in 2010. The island is gated and guarded by its own police force and 24/7 armed boat patrol, and also boasts its own private country club and golf course.
Trump and Kushner will reportedly maintain their Manhattan apartment—located in a high-rise Park Avenue building on the Upper East Side—and their cottage near the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, which is currently undergoing significant renovations, in addition to their new Florida space. During their time in Washington, D.C., they rented a 7,000-square-foot, Waddy Butler Wood–designed home in the district’s Kalorama neighborhood from Chilean billionaire Andrónico Luksic.
